Wilderness Guided Elk

Wilderness Elk and Deer Guided Hunt: Experience the Thrill

Are you ready for an unforgettable hunting adventure in the heart of the Colorado wilderness? Our classic wilderness pack-in elk hunt, complete with horses and mules to access our eight backcountry camps, is the perfect choice for an adventurous outdoor enthusiast.

Elk And Mule Deer

Unlike many other areas of Colorado, this wilderness permit area bordering Rocky Mountain National Park produces some 300″+ B&C/P&Y class bulls each year. Our hunters will take several 300″+ class bulls each year, but we don’t advertise this as a trophy hunt. Our hunters take bulls from 4×4 to 6×6 in size scoring well into the 300″ class. The best bull we have taken scored 397″ and we usually get a few bulls each year that score over 350″.

While our area is known for its elk hunting, we occasionally harvest some nice mule deer bucks as well. With elk tags and deer tags by application and the ability to draw with only one preference point, we are the only outfitter in this wilderness area for elk/deer. Plus, non-residents may receive up to 25% of the tags. If you miss the drawing deadline in April or if you fail to draw, landowner tags are available for an additional $500 (archery and muzzleloader) or $1,000 (rifle).

Discover the Wilderness: Horseback and Foot Access Only

Our services include riding horses on the pack-in/out days, 2:1 hunter to guide ratio, transportation of trophies/meat back to Fort Collins and meals and lodging during your wilderness stay. Our fully-supplied wilderness camp with a wall tent provides the perfect home away from home while you explore the wilderness.

Personalized Trip with High Success Rate

The major factors affecting hunter success include hunter physical conditioning, marksmanship, and weather. Get in shape!
