Unit 9 is completely private land, which means the preference points required to draw range from 0 to 1 point only. We consistently produce high-quality bulls scoring in the 300″ class and bucks in the 150″ to 175″ class.

We offer archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunts to fit your hunting style. Our hunts include a 2:1 hunter-to-guide ratio, private land, transportation by truck/OHV, game retrieval, and transportation of game to the meat processor/taxidermist.

Moderate Terrain and High Success Rate
The terrain is moderate and fairly easy to navigate compared to most elk areas. Our success rate has been nearly 100%. Additionally, our hunters have taken several 300″+ class bulls and some nice deer. Our best deer scored 183″ but most will score 150-175″, and we only take a few bucks each year.
Limited Availability to Maintain Quality Experience
To maintain the good quality of bulls and the experience, we take a maximum of two elk hunters per hunt. Similarly, we only take a few bucks each year.
Lodging
Stay at the Quality Inn and Suites in Wellington, CO, at your own expense. The hotel provides a free continental breakfast, while several nearby restaurants are open for dinner. We provide sack lunches and drinks during the day. Hunters drive 15 minutes each morning to meet the guide in Livermore and use his crew cab truck and crew cab side-by-side from there.

Hunters without preference points or those who wish to save them for other units can purchase our landowner tags for $500. This ensures that you can easily book this high-quality experience on private land.
