These hunts are conducted on private ranches. I operate on approximately 50,000 acres in each of three areas. These areas are some of the best units in Colorado to draw for trophy pronghorn bucks scoring in the mid 70 to mid 80 B&C class. In fact, a buck killed in one of these units was once the World Record at 91 4/8ths with 7 7/8ths bases. According to the 12th Edition of the Boone and Crockett Record Book, this buck is now tied for 7th but still has the second largest bases ever recorded. The largest bases ever recorded (8”) were from a B&C buck harvested in the other area I operate in. The largest buck ever taken by a client of mine scored 84 5/8 B&C net and 87 6/8 B&C gross. This buck was 16 6/8ths inches long and had 7 2/8ths inch bases. The B&C Record Book requires a score of 82 B&C and contains several entries from both the areas I operate in and from my clients. In 2007, my hunters took two bucks scoring 82 B&C or better. In 2008, again my hunters took three bucks over 82 B&C with the largest scoring 85 B&C. In 2010, the best buck taken by my hunters scored 84 2/8 B&C and two more hunters took bucks over 80 B&C. In 2011, 2012, and 2013, my hunters took several 80+ class bucks. Best buck of 2014 was 82 5/8 B&C. My hunters will have opportunities to harvest 14" to 16 1/2" bucks. The rifle hunts include two on one guiding, caping of the trophy, transportation during the hunt, and recommendations on game processors and taxidermists. Lodging and meals are not included at the regular price but may be packaged together. Archery hunters are provided with waterhole/tank blinds and may also bring their own blinds.
Unlike the random drawings for licenses in some states, Colorado uses a preference point system for limited licenses. This means that you can predict in what year you will receive a license. Each unit requires a certain number of preference points to get a license. An applicant may apply for one pronghorn preference point each year. Call me for preference point requirements. I also usually get several rifle and archery landowner vouchers (tags) per year that the landowner can sell you if you do not have preference points..
